WTB: LQ9/LS6/LS1 longblock (complete swap)
I own a 2001 Trans Am 6-speed with the LS1. I blew the motor and I am think I am going to go with either an LQ9 (6.0 liter) or the LS6.
I am looking to buy one of the following longblocks with all of the components. In order of preferrence::
LQ9 - I need everything. The heads, crank, wiring harness, computer etc, etc. The motor needs to be a "drop-in".
LS6 - I would need everything to make it compatible with my 2001 TA. Also needs to be a "drop-in".
LS1 - Last resort, because I want a stronger motor. But this also needs to be a "drop-in".
Post what you have, pictures and prices.
It needs to be removed from the vehicle and ready to drop in.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
I am parting out my LS1. I damaged the back driver's side piston, cylinder wall and valves. The rest of the LS1 is perfectly fine.
I have removed both the heads for examination.
I have the LS6 intake and CAM. If you want the entire "longblock" I'll take $500 cash, but you have to either wait until I have it removed to install the new one, or (if you want it sooner) pay to have it removed by Quick Rev! here in Dayton. They are the only people I trust to touch my car. No do-it-yourself removal. Who knows what might get damaged.
If you want a specific part, speak up and make an offer.
Thanks!!!
Josh

List all of the above and I will consider it.
I will also talk to my mechanic who knows EVERYTHING about LSx motors and the cars they are in.

Ok.. I appriciate the reply, but that doesnt help me as to whether it would fit into my Trans Am and how much is required to make it fit.
I also was looking for a complete drop-in ready motor with everything on it.
I dont have the time or money to put a motor together.

If it's the LQ9, I might have to talk to you about that.

Out of my price range though.
That sounds like a good deal since it come with the conversion parts.
Thanks for the offer.
