would anyone know how to fix a irratic idle untill warm i have a 98 camaro ls1,with a 598 lift comp cam,several other mods,bought car already done,when first starting idle will go up and down till warmed up,was told it was due to the cam and running rich when cold,is there a fix for this,anyhelp would be greatly appreciated,thanks Dave

Re: would anyone know how to fix a irratic idle untill warm Only fix I know is to put the stock cam back in hehehe. Seriously though...have you drilled the throttle body any? I did that in small gradual steps with mine and it's gotten way better.

Re: would anyone know how to fix a irratic idle untill warm Mine is just under 1/4". I have a pretty big cam and could probably go the full 1/4" though. Before I drilled it I would have to keep giving the car gas when I started it up for a few minutes then it would still hunt for awhile. It was always stalling at stops. Since then I just pedel it for 10 or 15 seconds on startup and it idles by itself and it alot more drivable in town. If you're hole is already 1/4" I wouldn't go bigger. That's the largest they say to go.
