Default Methanol on a DD

Would running methanol on a progressive controller allow you to run say 12.5-12.8:1 compression without retarding timing on an NA setup?

This is the idea behind it

stock bottom end 346 + rod bolts possibly

Milled 5.3 heads + gasket combo to reach desired compression

Big bumpstick(Unsure on actual cam)

Would be looking for Big na power on the stock bottom end.

Open to ideas and input.

Not cool to rely on a meth kit. If it were to fail or go empty, you don't have much of a daily driver.

Pretty easy to setup a safety switch and pull timing.

Also that wasent really what i was asking sir.

I think you could do it fine, the problems I see would be if you infact had that much compression you are relying 100% on the meth kit making the octane high enough to withstand the added compression and be able to run pump gas and a good timing curve. Not to mention the fact that you won't net THAT much hp gain by running a compression that high. It is not worth it in my opinion. It would be a pretty bad *** setup though and it would sound mean with 13:1 compression.

Im unsure as to what compression i can achieve with heads and gasket combo. I definitely have more research to do. Was more looking at the overall idea. Setup like a 5 gallon tank in the rear where the t-tops go(hardtop car) and use the rear seat area(their gone) for storage when needed.

I think the compression and added timing with a big cam would lay down some pretty sick NA power. Thats the big goal.

You won't hit that compression with that combo.I would say the most would be 11.8-1 but you will have to mill the heads past there efficiency range and then angle mill the intake to fit -not worth it.

the power gained going that high would be needed to carry the extra weight of the 5 gallon tank in the back full.

Over a full point of compression and added timing isnt going to over come 40 pounds?

And this is based on how many of your NA meth setups?
