Switched power source for wideband
I just got a PLX wideband was wondering where the best place to hook into switched power would be. I was planning on running the ground directly to the battery since it's fairly close.
This is on a '03 z06.

You want to give some thought to the grounding
(and probably experiment) because a hundred mV
of ground offset can be a significant reported AFR
skew. Your scan tool ground is at the OBDII port
as-built. You might elect to rewire this to the same
point as the WB ground (OBDII pulls negligible
current and can take a longer ground wire).
If you are busy wiring, I'd suggest getting a relay,
run its coil off IGN and feed the WB through that
from BAT (maybe with an inline circuit breaker of
15A or so). That way you do not overload an
existing circuit. I have melted a cig lighter "Y"
adaptor running WB and a 70W inverter at the
same time... they can be power hogs.

If you're looking for switched 12-volt inside the cabin, you'll find it behind the passenger's kick panel in a taped off 3-wire connector. One is ground, one is switched 12 volt, and one is full-time 12 volt.
