yes, it's ok, but it's not required for a h/c car.

When the o2's are turned off, the pcm should be configured for open loop.
This means there is really no feedback from the o2's to pcm.

So yes, a/f ratio will change a bit depending on conditions.

We run our race truck in OLSD mode because it's not daily driven, however, a/f ratio always needs tweeking.

Why not go SD and keep the o2's, that way you have a nice running car with decent mileage?
SD gets along great with a heavy h/c vehicle.

yea well my tuner said its not a sd tune and everything is working except the o2s that way the car runs smoother and its not as flip flop because of bad o2s sorry gas... bad weather etccc its just another sensor to mess up right? The cam is a ms3 with 5.3 heads and it gets drove 100 miles a week and 275 shot of gas.

I'm working on that right now on my car. You can see my thread below. I got tired of constant 02 sensor codes and am running full time open loop with MAF.

I started with the AFR table that the guy in the thread posted and tweaked it a bit for my car. I've been running with a wideband on it today and it is amazingly close to where it needs to be most of the time. Driveability is unchanged. Idle has been lean, so I'm tweaking that a bit to get it in line.

So yes, it can be done and the results are good but you'll have to tune on it till you get it right.
