Default P0135 Code

My 2002 Trans Am is throwing a P0135 code, and the scanner says "O2 Heater Circuit Malfunction, Bank 1 Sensor 1". I know what the O2 heater is, but how can I fix this? Could there be a shorted out wire to the heater?

Thats the front driver side 02 sensor. Probably damaged wiring or sensor. Install headers lately? If replacing get Vette 02's Bosch 13111's.

thank you, yeah im going to jack the car up right now and take a peek under there and see if theres any visibly damaged wires. I've got headers on the car, but they've been on for about 3 months now and the SES light just came on yesterday. We'll see though.

I'm assuming if I get a new Corvette O2 for the driver's side I'm going to need one to replace the passengers as well

Header install - did you use 02 extensions or did they lengthen the stock wires using the supplied wire in the kit? If they extended the wires they have probably come loose. Replace both IMO yes. Not necessary but honeslty worth the upgrade for longevity/gas mileage/...they work! Lol

there are 02 extensions on it, and i just got under the car and there is no obvious signs. all the wiring is in place, everything is plugged in. could there be the chance that the 02 heater just stopped working? theres only 35,000 miles on the car
