Default LS7 starts and then dies

Could anyone point me in right direction on this. I reflashed ECM (E38) with a stock tune that had different OS. Engine seems to start normally but dies almost immediately.
Any thoughts?
thanks

Did it run before you reflashed?

Mine did the exact same thing when I started trying to tune open loop speed density. The mistake I had made was I set the MAF codes P0101, P0102, and P0103 as not reported.
They should be set to "non-emissions".

This could cause your start and die scenario. But so could a bad fuel pump. Do you have a way to check fuel pressure?
Do you still have the MAF hooked up?

Cool, what he said^^^. Sounds like there is something in your settings that is set wrong. I was going to point to the MAF settings as well...where did you get this tune to reflash it with?

Did you turn off VATS? It needs to have a FULL flash with operating system code changes to all it to run..

What software are you using to tune.

I was thinking maybe a VATS issue. I did turn it off and applied the patch in EFILIVE.
This happened when I reflashed completely to a new Gm OS. The only stock ls7 tunes in efilive repository had an incompatible OS with my ECM.
Does an enabled VATS allow car to crank and start briefly f correct keycode is not supplied?
thanks for help.

Yes it will allow it to crank and then die. Some people have to put power to the cranking voltage on the pcm itself too, not sure what pin that was, but it is labled cranking voltage.

If it dont work try changing the vats type to 1, 2 or 3. usually 3 works the best. Also, did you check for codes being thrown? that might give you a clue.

Or send the tune over to me and i can check it to make sure it is valid.

Thanks very much wait4me. I didnt realize there were different VATS types, so I'll try that. Appreciate your offer to look at my tune, I'll take you up on it if switching VATS types doesnt work.
Appreciate the help!
