Help what power inverter do i need for a laptop with no batterie? sine wave question
so i have a laptop thats older and has NO batterie......I have all my tuning stuff on it like tunnerpro and im lookin for a power inverter to run it while im logging my truck and tuning. I have read up on the inverters but still have not found a good answer. What size and type inverter do i need to run a laptop size--- Input : AC 100-240V ~1.5 A, 50-60hz
Output: DC 19 V, 3.16 A
I have read that if the laptop has no battery and you goin to use the inverter to power just the laptop then i need a inveter thats pure sine wave output not modified sine wave.
Just want to make sure i get the right thing so i can power the laptop in the truck and not burn stuff up!

That all depends on the qualities of the power supply. Me,
I'd leave a "dead" battery in it. But the PC itself is always
going to be given a DC voltage and the power supply is
what has to suck up the harmonics in a square wave or
MSW inverter.
Just plug in the power supply to an inverter and measure
the output voltage. If it's close to the nameplate value,
call it good.
I use one of those 75W cig lighter inverters when I must,
though a good battery lets you be isolated from the
vehicle which is a good thing generally.

yea thats prob what i need to do it pick up a new laptop but i was just tryin to get what i have to work. I bought a DC to DC box that has a lot of diffents ends to fit different things and ive been told it should work......still have not opened it up to check yet tho. might take it back cus it might not put out enough juice to power it
