Default Guage Cluster Question..

I know 99's have that problem with resetting and all.. The battery was/is bran new and still reads 12.7 on volt meter & all the grounds seem to be ok...
Question is this.. Which year guage cluster will fit my car? Sure dont want to get another 99 one.. And i just buy the whole piece/all the guages part? Not just a chip to replace or something.. Thanks.. going to replace it with tax return..

The 99's had a flaw in the guage cluster. When you start the car all the guages reset.. Did a search but could not find what year model will match up. Certainly dont want to get another 99..

98 gauges have direct connection to the fuel level and temp sensors. wiring won't work in a 99+ car.

99+ use PCM data for those gauges, you will need a 99 cluster, the 00+ may work, but might have some lights that don't work right, as they added some idiot lights in the newer cars, change oil, and low fuel.

I know that I tried a newer cluster in my 98 and it didn't work. It will fit, but is pinned different so none of the guages worked correctly.

well i know a solution to your problem, Granatelli makes a new guage cluster assembley for the 99+ F-body's (corvette style) it has bumped up the speedo to 205mph instead of the basic 155mph one.. it also has 3 face styles, black(stocker), white and blue.. well not sure if this will help but hey its worth a shot..

won't really help him because its not actually a NEW gauge.....you send in your gauge you HAVE, they remove the face (where the numbers are), put a new one on, and recalibrate the gauge (speedo) to 200mph....

99+ got larger gas tanks for some emisions reason so that was the reason for the fuel change.

the water temp, was due to customers complaining that the gauge moved a lot while driving.... HOF F_EN STUPID CAN PEOPLE BE IF IT IS NOT IN THE RED, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT MOVING FROM 180 TO 210.....

im just glad mine works
