Stubborn Diagnostic Tests still “Incomplete”…
I can’t seem to get my O2 heater & catalyst efficiency tests to run/complete.
I disconnected the battery about 300 miles ago, and at 200 miles I had 4 incompletes. By 250 miles, I was down to these last 2 (O2 heater & catalyst efficiency). I tried the GM OBD II drive cycle and it didn’t work for these last two, they are still incomplete. Before the battery disconnect all the tests were complete including the two that are now giving me issues, so I know they should complete.
Any tips on getting these last two to run? I gave the car all the electrical load I could on a cold start as recommended to try and get the O2 heater to run (rear defrost, A/C, headlights, radio) but no luck. So far I’ve done that on 2 cold starts and still nothing.
How many drive cycles should this take? Do I have to follow the full cycle for things like the O2 heater test which only run on a cold start anyway? I also noticed that the OBD drive cycle guidelines say that it may take up to 5 cycles to get the catalyst efficiency test to run. Is this also true of the O2 heater?
Any tips would be great. Thanks.

All of my System Readiness Tests except Evap Purge usually complete after about 50-75 miles of driving. That darn evap purge never seems to complete... but maybe that's cause I'm playing with my tune every weekend.

Guess I just have to keep driving. I need to take a OBD scan emissions test soon, so I need to get these to complete.

Guys, what do I select in Autotap to check if my emissions monitors have been run or not? I've got a 96 TransAm, and I need to check the egr, evap, misfire, etc. I can't seem to find anything that sounds like a monitor test results.

Thats how I know it only takes 50-75 miles to complete all the other tests. I've flashed and observed the tests change a bunch of times.

Actually ONE "GM DRIVE CYCLE" should test all applicalble functions and set the indicators to tested - pass or fail is up the the individual systems.
Here's a few links:
