160 stat vs. mpg
will running the cooler stat in this cooler weather (50-60ish) effect the mpg? My tuner suggested one and it seemed to work fine in the warmer weather but now it seems to get real poor mileage. Took a 3hr road trip, drove conservitive at 65-70 and only got 12mpg...Iv gotten as much as 20mpg b4...but does seem to fluctuate alot between 14-20 mpg. Would the stock stat and turning on the fans higher help with mpg? Now the fans come on at 175....Also, the car temps run about 160ish down the road in this cooler weather,so the stat must be just opening.....
Help please.

Yes it does affect the MPG, the best engine efficiency is at higher ECT's
A 160 stat is better for performance, not for economy.
However it should not be a big difference, you may have more issues.
