SD dyno tuner somewhat near SW MI? (lt1)
Hey guys, sorry for posting an lt1 tuning related question outside of the lt1 specific sub-forum, but I've tried 3 times now (in the regional and lt1 sub-forums) to get an answer to my question, to no avail. And since this sub-forum seems to get a good amount of views and traffic I figured I might get an answer here.
The short of it is that I'm looking for a dyno tuner semi-near SW MI to do a SD tune on my '93 lt1. I've had a PCMforless tune on it since I built it (~35000 miles ago...) and it's kept the thing running and from blowing up all that time, but it's definitely not perfect and I would like to get the two-fold benefit of a dyno tune in that it will be more accurate, and will actually tell me what kinda numbers I'm putting down.
Now when I say semi-near, I mean that I am willing to make a fairly long trip if need be. I live ~1.5 hours from Chicago, ~3 hours from Detroit, ~3 hours from Indianapolis and am willing to drive further than that if need be (fully confident in my car making it there. 35000 miles, many 3+ hour trips, WOT pulls now and then shows the PCMforless tune is, if nothing else, safe). I've even thought about heading to PCMforless and letting them do it even though it's a very long trip, but I've heard talk that they stopped dyno tuning for lt1 cars altogether and only do mail order tunes for them now...is this true?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions, it is greatly appreciated.
