SD tune, but MAF is still installed?
Hey all. When i bought my car, it supposable had a SD tune on it. The thing is, it still has the MAF still installed on the intake but its not connected to the plug. I am not sure if the previous owner had left the MAF installed when he had it SD tuned or not. I was wanting to remove the MAF(I believe its the stock one) and just install a coupler from the lid directly to my 90mm TB, but i am not sure if that would through off the SD tune because of there being less restriction? Any help would be great.

for an SD tune..the MAF can physically be there, and even still plugged in...
all that matters is the Tune has the MAF fail frequency set to 0
or you can just unplug the MAF which will cause it to fail and it will go into SD
only way to know for certain if the car is in SD is to check the tune

Any increase in airflow from freeing up the intake will show up as increased MAP, so the PCM will compensate. The MAF is about a 0.3 kPa restriction on a stocker (I've tested it), so expect to gain about 0.3% power
