Default 01 Camaro cammed 6.2 swap doesnt want to idle

Hello, im tuning a friends cammed 6.2 swapped 2001 Camaro that doesnt want to idle. It does idle really good when in park/neutral but once you throw it in gear i just idles at 400 rpm until it dies(most of the times i cant recover) Here is the tune so you guys can see what it has and also a short lig file. Just dont tell the tune still needs that and that because i know it needs a lot to finish. Right now i first want to focus on getting it to idle and then ill do the rest.

The mods are:
6.2 l92 engine
vvt delete
231/236 .644/.613 on a 113 cam
102mm tb
ls3 intake
4l60e

I think the idle is too high, I would think 900-950 max idle. The idle airflow looks pretty high also. What are your IAC counts? Have you adjusted the TB idle screw at all? I would adjust the IAC Steps vs Effective Area table also for the intake and TB.

Well honestly this is my first time tuning a car with a cam this big, and yes i did adjust the idle screw a bit until it idled at the commanded idle speed but i have not looked at the iac counts. I just did a little research on that, so i will try and see if i can get that right. And i already tried the idle rpm at 900 but it didnt idle very good, but i think with the iac counts adjusted, 900 rpms should be good.

I just played with the car a little and i still cant get it to work. I set the idle rpm at 900 and the iac is reading around 200. I cant seem to get it down any farther than that and when i force it to be 70 in the scanner, it just dies. Im thinking if i should put another tb on it...maybe it is too big, i dont know. Im very frustrated already but i have to get this right. Another friend told that it was the injectors but i dont see how. What do you guys think?

If your IAC is 200 the TB set screw needs to be adjusted 200 is too high. Depending on what tables you adjust it can affect the IAC reading also.

Adjust the idle screw to open the throttle body further and reset the TPS

If you need remote tuning help through hpt we can get you either started on the right path and be there for questions, or go through the tune from start up to finish.
Let us know if we can help in any way. You have prob figured out you can get stuck in left field quickly and chase your tail for hours or days.

If you end up wanting tuning assistance through email, we offer base tunes and also do full remote tuning through email with you doing the data logging and we do the tuning. We offer those services for HP Tuners, EFI Live, SCT, BS3, Fast XFI, and Holley EFI. If you give us a call I can go over your options and see what would be the best route for your goals. We are open M-F 9-6 and the number is in the sig below.

Thanks

i just did a customers car with the same setup just a bit more cam, idles great at 950.....200 is far too high on IAC's...crack the throttle blade open a bit you want to be idling it down around 30-50 counts hot idle.....bit of advice also try less idle timing and more air....also make sure its not rich...big cams do not like richer idles

coSPEED2 and LSX Power Tuning- thank you very much for offering and i will try and see if i can get this correct and if not i will get a mail order tune.

quik95lt1 - thank you for the advice.

I got the car working better now with a little less idle airflow and adjusted fueling. I think i can accomplish this.

Well, ours isnt a "mail order tune" as you would think. Since you have HPT, we can basically remote custom tune the whole thing for you, with you, or get you in the right direction with guidance as you need it.
I hope you get it taken care of, but just in case you run into a road block, keep us in mind!
