I bought a 2001 Z28 rolling chassis and it was missing the trans, engine, and engine wiring harness, so I put it back together and now I have the entire dash lit up with all the warning lights and the ABS module with the connector attached started smoking and looks like it melted the module. What did I miss? Has anybody ever had these problems and can help me with info towards a resolution. Any help would be appreciated.

You missed the "direct to ground" short??
B4 you do it again, I'd suggest getting a manual, re-checking all the wiring routing, grounds, etc.
