I think you can do the tach with a converter from 8cyl to 4cyl with that cluster. There is a dedicated tach out on the Holley. You'll need everything else aftermarket or you'll need to leave the stock PCM to handle some stuff which is a wiring nightmare IMO. The main issue being that the clusters for 99-02 fbodies are can bus and will only communicate with stock PCM.

Im in the same boat. Really want to buy a dominator but totaly lost on what to do for ob2 plug in emissions testing in PA here. Needs done every year. Also having to buy the holly dash or all new autometer gauges really starts jacking up the cost.
Why would it be a problem to leave the stock pcm as is , just for basics like fuel level, speedo, oil psi and water temp? As long as no sensors are shared does it matter?

on a 99-02 Fbody, the only way to do it is to Piggy back to the stock ECU....or get a 98 gauge cluster since it uses all analog gauges
I've done it on customers cars...its a ROYAL PAIN IN THE ***
and there are very specific things you have to do when you piggy back...its not just as simple as splitting wires to both pieces...it doesnt work that simple.
All Ground go to the Holley, and stock ECU only Grounds to the chassis/battery
crank signal needs split and diodes added
you need a separate ECT for both the Holley and the stock ECU
Oil Pressure needs a 3 wire for the Holley, and stock is just straight to the cluster with a one wire, the holley doesnt need the oil pressure sensor, but its nice to have on a data log
speedo will be just to the stock ECU and stock ECU controls speedo gauge, you can split the signal to the holley, but its not necessary
you can make Fans turn on with the Holley, or just leave them commanded by the stock ECU at that point
AC stuff still goes thru the stock ECU, Alternator goes thru the stock ECU, Trans Control needs a lot of stuff to work right...so you cant do it with a HP...have to be a Manually operated transmission, or a separate controller. and you could try to make the Stock ECU control an auto trans, but theres a lot of stuff you have to split and it becomes a wiring nightmare with lots of Diodes and lots of grounding issues....which in reality means...you really cant do it unless you design circuits for the space shuttle..LOL
its FAR easier to get aftermarket Gauges.
