Wot converter lock for tuning purposes ?
I have a 4l70e ls2 TBSS with a circle D 3200 single disk
I'm doing some finally touch-ups to my tune, I'm able to command 3rd gear on the highway and get some good logs in.
But I cant seem to get bellow the 3200-3400 range with the converter.
Would it be ok to lock the converter around 2k and do one WOT pull ?
I know guys do it on the dyno, just wondering if its ok to do on the street .

If you'll never go there in real life then you can probably
accept "good enough" in the tune.
If you want to lock at low RPM WOT you probably want
to spend some prep time making sure the TCC has all the
pressure it needs to do its job, because a full power hard
slip stands a good chance of ruining something if the TCC
tries and fails to lock. And you probably ought to ask Circle
D directly about whether they think the particular piece in
question is up to that kind of duty under any conditions.
I've had a converter that could, and one that couldn't
handle WOT locking.
