Default oil pressure and fuel level gauge needed?

Does the computer NEED to see them in order to work? I'm installing aftermarket gauges that will have their own sending units and I'm wondering if I can remove the factory ones (cleanup). Will the computer freak out if they are gone?

nope... PCM doesn't give a rats ***...

actually I don't think either of them even go to the PCM... i know the oil sensor only goes to the gauge cluster on F-Body's (PCM doesn't know what the oil pressure is) the fuel level gauge may go to the PCM (because I think there's a fuel left value you can watch) but the PCM won't care if it's showing as empty

worst that will happen is you'll have an eternal Check Gauges light on

I thought you had to see oil pressure for the fuel pump to activate. (other than the initial key-on pump cycle)

I'm wiring up a FAST standalone, and we stripped my oil pressure gauge and wiring out of the harness and we are going to repin it into the connector in the passenger side footwell. I have to reground it though that was wired into one of those big multigrounds in the harness.
