Should I switch back to a stock MAF?
If I keep the ported/polished MAF, what do I need to consider when doing my tune.
I am completely new to tuning, so any help would be appreciated.
is different except they all read false-lean. No way
aside from a flow bench to tell how much.
If you had a stocker on there, the MAF table is a
"gimme". So you could tune everything tight, and
swap back to ported, and let the LTFTs' drift tell
you what the MAF table scaling should be.
But for that hassle, you might prefer to get a Z06
MAF and a Casper's adapter pigtail, and pick up a Z06
MAF table to use with it - getting the least restriction,
highest calibrated airflow and a relatively proven cal.
Especially if you have to shell out for a stocker. Tho
junkyard truck and LS-1 MAFs ought to be cheap too.
I have picked up truck MAFs under $40 off eBay and
popped the screen, flow testing indicates no change
(within a few-% output frequency "cloud") in Hz out.
But, least-involved would be the stock F-body MAF,
no two ways about it. One thing I have learned about
self-tuning, change one thing at a time and you muss
up your mind a whole lot less.
