which pcm for a 6.0 l96 and 4l80e Tampa FL
been reading on here alot for the last few months. first post, here it goes.
I blew the motor in my 1997 toyota land cruiser 4.5l inline 6. aka the pig. I had just rebuilt the head a few months before. The truck is lifted up on 36 inch tires with full trail armor and 1 ton axles. so the truck is heavy and the old motor was never up to the task and I'd like to be able to pull a camper.
a few months ago I started looking for a LQ9 complete and in good shape. after a month i gave up.
3 weeks ago i found a 2012 6.0 L96 with L92 heads, complete drop out with wiring harness and pcm with 10,000 miles on it !!!
I will be bolting this up to a 2008 4l80E out of a 2500 suburban.
I want to keep VVT active and turn off all smog related items.
what PCM do I need to run this combo ? e38 ???
i will be ordering a custom harness from speartech.
please point me in the right direction of which pcm I need. anyone local in tampa who can unlock and tunes this pcm ? do i need a TCM ?

from what i gather the newer 2012 pcm wont control the 2008 4l80e. i guess the new transmissions have their own tcm. will the 2008 suburban pcm control the newer 6.0 and retain vvt ?
