Changing dwell effect of Pre-detonation?
I'm using my ls1 coils to fire my ls3 but they are pretty ld and I have a new set of ls3 coils here that I could bolt on. Naturally I would hcange the dwell setting in hptuners to match. My question is will changing the dwell settings or anything else associated with the new coils effect pre-detonation? I wouldnt think so but I wanted to be 100% sure

Pre-ignition by definition happens before the spark is
let. Dwell (coil current ramp) happens there but nothing
in the hole. But you might be able to (say) runa colder
plug with a more powerful spark and get some dieseling
margin.
Now, ping is not preignition per se but spark position,
and a hotter spark might light off faster and show
ping from that aspect - making you need less flame
propagation time, and so tolerating less advance.

Well, there is a chance the timing differences will fit
within whatever margin you've left on the table in the
current tune. I wouldn't worry, I'd just try and see and
deal if necessary.
