Default Advanced Predator question

Just wondering if anyone knows what tables/parameters predator changes for
power inrichment. Does it change the MAF tables like a MAFT?

I'm working on that now by using the Diablo programmer and comparing the changes made to the actual hexdump from my flash chip. So far I have established that the Diablo "performance" tune is pretty weak, making no changes to fueling and very few changes to timing. In 3D view of the timing maps, the Diablo "performance modifications" take up a small area in the midrange, and only increase that area by a couple of degrees. I suspect that Diablo uses a conservative tune for its initial performance file, knowing that customers will likely tune the performance parameters more aggressively afterwards.

My next project will be to see if the custom spark advance and fuel enrichment options available on the Diablo tuner actually increase these values as it says it does. For instance, does increasing the spark advance by 2 degrees on the Diablo acually advance the timing by 2 degrees? I suspect not, and I guess that when you make these changes, the Diablo is scaled to make these changes by half or some other low percentage to dumb-down the programmer, making it less powerful and safer in the hands of morons. But this is just a guess.

Also, interestingly, although I believe it claims to do so, I confirmed that the Diablo programmer does NOT alter the torque management program. After locating the map area where torque limit is, I found that after the Diablo tune, the torque limit value remained at 350.

So, back to the question: Wade, I'm workin' on it.

Predator zeroes the torque reduction tables
for transmission. I've been told the torque limit
field applies only to electronic throttle vehicles.
You should look more thoroughly. There are
several different TM actions / tables in the
PCM cal data.

I saw 6 degrees advance difference between
stock and Predator tune in logging. I don't
remember now whether this was with, or
without the 3 degrees of user adjust on top.
But this was from WOT highway pulls.

I have stock, Predator "canned" and Predator
w/ user adjustments HPTuners .bin files saved
off my car. But I haven't cared to go back and
look at them to compare in detail. Too many
things that -could- be changed, and I'm not
using any of what Predator did (preferring to
build off the stock tune in a methodical way).

I have been reading tables modified by Hypertech and by Predator and comparing to stock. The only thing I see that Predator changes in the fuel tables is PE vs RPM from 2800 rpm and up. You can increase it or decrease it with the programmer.

In the transmission table it changes "Desired Shift Time" table, "Base Pressure vs Torque" table and the "Upshift Torque Reduction" table. It changes timing by percentage on a curve which varies from 1.5 degrees to 16.5 degrees being the most I have seen in some cells.

Thanks for the replys. I was thinking the predator might be manipulating the MAF table or something to that effect. I have heard people comment on how changing the PE with the predator also affects cruising LTFTs. Sounds like a constant change and no just a WOT thing.
