Default Engine shuts down in 20-30 seconds

I have a buddy that installed a LS1 into a street rod. He is having a issue where the engine starts but shuts down in 20 seconds.

He is missing the theft deterant unit. Does the wire that goes to the pcm have to be grounded?

Also his fuel pressure is at 84 psi. Could this also cause the problem? Does the pcm monitor this?

Thanks,

Roman

20 seconds is weird, vats normally kicks in about 5 seconds later

fuel pressure at 84 is too high, the pcm does not monitor the fuel system

the wire for the vats, needs a 5 volt 50hz square wave signal

So what you're saying is go and get the theft deterant module. 5 volt square wave. It's almost like they want to make it hard or something.

Thanks

Yeah, that way my car doesnt get stolen as easily! You could just get HPTuners or LS1Edit and turn the VATS off....thats what i'd do.
