Default whats wrong w/ diablo?

I dont think too many people on here like handhelds but I was just looking at a friend's Diablo on his H-D F150 the other day and you can go into a custom tune section and adjust fuel rich or lean in % and timing advance, and turn o2 sensors off, etc., and adjust idle. Anyway, what does the Diablo NOT do that the HP Tuners, and Auto Tap, and LS1 Edit do? Just wondering because it looked like the Diablo did alot of stuff and it is small compared to a laptop

well i've never used a Diablo... but I think it's adjustments are across the board... you can make the entire PE table x% rich or lean... but w/HPT you can adjust each cell... you can fine tune the RPM... you can fine tune your VE. W/the wideband hooked up you can exactly dial in your AFR for various RPMs

The diablo is a nice unit, don't get me wrong, just not as powerful as HPT or similar solutions... Autotap is just a scanner... LS1 Edit is a tuner w/thus far a pretty crappy scanner... HPT is a an all in one solution, tuning and scanning... you tune the PCM based on the scans/logs

Basically Diablo is easier to use, lower learning curve, but makes more broad changes, HPT lets you make minor changes, small changes, let's you scale RPM ranges, yourself... so if you wanna/need to run fatter up top but leaner down low or whatever, you can do that... Plus w/HPT you have access to most all of the Tables... if you get KR only at a certain RPM, you can tweak the timing at that point or tweak the AFR at that point, etc.. instead of making broad changes that affect the entire table

Hp tuners gives you access to the tables.

You need to know what the tables do, and how to make the changes you want.

The F-body Predator tool is a real gimp compared
to the capabilities they provide for other models.
At one time they said they were going to provide
an upgrade path (like, when I bought the thing)
but that has turned out to be a kiss-off.

It's a Swiss Army knife vs. tool chest type of
proposition, but the tool set is only about $100
more (you're on your own for the chest, i.e.
laptop).

The few people I know that have the predator really like it. When guy said he gained about 10 horses, 13 ft lbs across the range. Im considering getting a used one. Where do you buy this HP Tuner?
