Default 4l60e shifting

does the speedo plug have to be plugged in for the tranny to shift ive converted back to a 4l60e plug has come up mia but the tranny will not shift so im thinking the computer is not reconizing it
please anyone with info

You might check your Mass Air Flow if that is not plugged in or not working then your tranny will not shift.

The shift settings are all MPH based except for
WOT where you also have RPM. So having no
MPH to go by, probably musses up its mind.

"HELP"
4L60E, & LS-1 in my 1956 p/u. When plugged up I nave no 3rd or 4th but when unplugged I get all gears but no passing gears, I have changed both shift solonoids.
What am I doing wrong
