LS1 Edit into a Predator?
I was wondering if a Predator will be able to give a live readout like AutoTap or is it more limited in this application? Also, do you need a laptop with LS1 Edit if you have a Predator? It seems you could get the updates/cables from Predator and download the Edit into the Predator, then go and install via the Predator? Anyone have experience with this. Thanks.

There are some application files from RWTD that can be used
to load tunes into the Predator from PC files. They're meant to
facilitate the "custom tune" process over the Internet.
It would be a stroke of luck, if the format for those files was
identical to LS1-Edit or HPTuners .bins; especially remote
chance for Edit given their proprietary encryption scheme.
However the Predator support apps will let you extract the
tune from the PCM, whatever is there, and then modify from
that "base" rather than the "canned" tune. So you could get
the tune into the Predator via that intermediate step.
Seems like a good way to kill an hour....
The scanning (no logging, real time only) is limited to a fixed
set of params that do not suffice for all of the things you
will want to tune. And the list of things you can actually
affect is even shorter.
You know the right answer; forget getting off cheap.

As long as you are willing to go through the Predator
custom tune, suck it out of the PCM approach you
can do that. You have to get the utility program for
that and the instructions off diablosporttuning.com,
and a serial cable and 12V adaptor for the Predator
(to update its internal software) and then, make it
suck up the tune off the PCM that you would want
to adjust. You will be able to use the PE and timing
buttons, anyway.
Check out the site and get the stuff, it's going to be
more tedious to set up but if it offers you some other
advantage, go for it.
