DFCO tuning for best fuel economy
My car is A4 3.73 with standard stall, it has 216/220 114LSA comp cam.
I want to know about the best way to optimize fuel economy in traffic. At the moment my computer says that instant fuel economy is dropping to 0 when coasting until the RPM reach 1200-1300rpm then the car starts using fuel economy again and wont go slower than about 37mph - with a need to use brakes for it to go any slower.
I guess that fuel is coming back on at 1300rpm and having this effect.

Dude,
DFCO in an Auto is not worth much after the TCC unlocks. It immediately goes to idle conditions and the RPMs register whatever the impeller drives the turbine at free wheeling. Stop-start traffic wont lock the converter so theres no point to DFCO.
Manuals stand to benefit more from DFCO than Autos do. In Auots its only useful when decelerating from above 1300rpm with a locked TCC.
