Have a service engine light code "P0430" help!!
I have a 2k2 with very low miles around 20k. I have a troubleshooting code state the following;
"The pcm has determined that the catalyst system efficiency for bank 2 is below threshold for the current engine operation conditions. (Bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank)."
What should I DO?????????????

Welp, don't know if this will work for you but I got the exact same code on my 99 Hawk a while ago. I put on a GMMG exhaust and a few thousand miles later, I got the same code and I was freaking out. I went to one of my car buds and he reset the computer by taking out two fuses or whatever and he said if it comes back on in a couple hundred miles, then a sensor or something has come out. First he check my o2 sensor but it was still in so that is when he reset my computer. Then he told me to take it easy and take it through the gears by driving around for about 10-15 min. Hasn't come on since then so I guess it could have just been the exhaust making it run rich for a sec or some oil got in there? Just my .02.

If it turns out to be a bad converter(low efficency is USUALLY a bad cat OR a possible PCM update or flash) then keep in mind that your cat is covered by a FEDERAL mandated warranty of 8 years or 80K miles.

Easy way to tell if its the O2 or cat is to swap the rear O2's, clear the code then drive the car until the code appears again. If its the same P0430 code then its a bad cat but if the code is P0420 (I think thats the bank 1 code) then its the O2 thats bad.
I had the same problem and it turned out to be one of the cats was bad. I replaced them with Carsound high flow cats I got off e-bay. I think the reason the cats go bad in f-bodies is because of their inherant rich condition. The unburned fuel exits the combustion chamber when the exhaust valve opens and quickly gets caught up in the cat where it then burns overheating the cat and melting the honeycombs. I see in your sig you have a ported t-body, 85 mm maf and bellows those can cause your car to run rich also.
