anti theaft

Can the anti-theaft function be turned off? My budy has a 99 silverado and he's had to take it to the dealer 3 times cause it keeps throwing codes relating to the (pass word???) and won't start.$295 a pop sucks! HELP

Yup , but the computer program and laptop to do it is a lot more expensive than that.

Not Vats on the '99 , it's PASSKEY I or II. A lot more complicated than VATS.

it can still be turned off in the pcm correct?
