Default LS2 Edit is coming......

I'm not sure if you guys hit the Vette forums once and a while, but Cartek has announced they have tuned a new LS2 Corvette and they have tested a early version of LS2 edit. Check this link...

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1008052

Nice things are coming for LS2 owners.

Probably... I wouldn't buy it, after owning LS1 Edit.

The version of LS2eidt that the tuners have now is a limited access beta version

They get updated files periodically and it is far from a fully functional tuning tool.

Gonna be a while

Given the history of the mentioned company, I would suggest that 99.9% of people will wait for HPT and EFILive to do LS2.

I'd have to say the same thing about LS1-Edit, even though it's been released to the public for years.

I dont know what else you can tune with other tuning software . I had LS1 edit for my C5 and had access to every table I needed. What was lacking?

I dont see anything better in this software other that availablity. I have auto-tap but it would be nice to use one cable to scan engine parameters.

Did you own LS1edit? Was there a table you couldn't access in your PCM that you desparately needed or are you 'that guy' that just bashes things and possibly never even owned ls1-edit. Not trying to start an argument but you made a statement and didnt explain what was meant. Possibly I am so naive about how happy I was with my tuning ability that I will be very happy to see how much better HPtuners will be. I hope so.

You cant even compair ls1edit to efilive or hptuners. Ls1edit is missing alot of important tables. Especiallly The Idleing tables for bigger cams.

I've worked with them all, and these guys are right -- HPTuners and EFILive smoke LS1Edit for completeness, accuracy, ease of use, and interface.

It's not the number of tuning parameters, though I think both EFILive and HPTuners outclass Edit in that area anyway.

Yes, I once owned Edit and I now own Flashscan (I had EFILive as my Scantool so the upgrade was too tempting). The one thing and most important thing is everytime I hit the prorgram PCM button I am no longer nervous, I NEVER reflashed my car with Edit more than probably 10 times given the amount of trouble people had I didn't want to end up with a crippled vehicle.
I think I am upto 40 or so flashes with EFILive and it's never hung on me once, even if it did it doesn't matter it will recover (something Edit would not do).

LS1Edit was a great pioneering program for tuning the LS1, but it's just not up to spec anymore.

OK, I was happy with the results of edit so by what all of you guys are saying I am definitely giving HP a try. I am happy to see I wasn't the only one nervous about the dangers with edit and the safety issues with HP seems to be worth a lot.

I never had any issues I wanted to fix with edit but if there is one complaint it was the fact that you couldn't get in touch with them efficiently. They don't advertise a telephone number. All of my correspondance was by computer and that annoyed me. I had two licenses and gave to edit cable to my friend who shared it with me. If I had wanted to sell it, it would be near worthless unlike this tuning platform.

Thanks to all that have straightened me out.

Spinmonster just visit www.hptuners.com and www.efilive.com and look at the differances compared to edit and the features each suite offers. That alone will make you a believer. I owned all three softwares also and trust me Edit leaves A LOT to be desired. Plus with the newer softwares you arent biting your fingernail everytime you flash since both have a recovery feature which will allow the car to run in case of a flashing mishap

I'm sold but why is that every major tuner I can think of used edit? This will require a guess from nearly everyone but would be great if a tuner would chime in or shoot me a pm. Is it just that it is really new and none really used it?

Every tuner uses Edit because it was the first package on the scene. They charge 6k for an unlimited version which is a sizable amount of money invested. I would hold on to it to had i put that much money into it.

I paid 9500 dollars for my LS1edit a little over 3 years ago, it was the only tuning tool available until recently, and if you go to a tuner that is using EFIlive or HPtuners, they have only been in the game for a short while most likely.
