car throwing a check engine code,help.

car throwing a check engine code,help. my car is a 01 m6 and it started throwing a check code it was either s215 or g110. the code is for the clutch pedal position switch. anyway i also noticed my cruse controll stoped working. i was told the switch that died when you step on the clutch it will turn off the cruse. is this true? will a new switch stop the check code and make the cruse controll work again? thanks, mike c.
