Getting your cars idle back in range 101: first few steps
Well I have been writing this up for those of you who have been asking. Many are tuning our selves and don't have the time to do all sorts of logging. I can't drive so I can do all the cold start logging on my car I want. Here is just the beginning to the write up. Lot of guys are having issues now so I wanted to get this out at least so you all can start to get things better. Hope you all like it and find it helpful, if you would like to add anything or think I need to correct some things let me know. I will try to finish the rest ASAP.

here is the link to the one with pics, I have a lot more info to add to this and will do so when i get some time.

Two quick things. You should probably make it clear that the IAC vs effective area is only for f-bodies. It's different for drive by wire. Also if you have a 160* thermostat you should change the adaptive idle enable temp to a lower temperature, and you might want to lower it even if you have a stock thermostat.

what numbers are good to lower it to? i didnt know about this. also i thought effective area worked for vettes just in a different manner right? ill fix it though thanks, just let me knwo more about the enable temp please, maybe set it to like 60*c instead of 80??

if anyone with a drive by wire tb has experience with this let me know. i think they have the same working order except there is no actual IAC motor that it controls, just throttle position
and p mack you want adaptive idle to start going once the car is warm? im thinking about the 140-150 range, once the trims start to kick in. just wanna know what you have done before i add to it, and can you explain the benefit of this?

I just mentioned cause I was helping someone get their idle down and i noticed his ltrims never changed. The enable temp was 176 and with his thermostat it never got above 174 idling. 150 would probably be good, i guess ideally you would see what temperature your idle airflow starts leveling out and doesn't change with temperature.

I've never worked with a vette effective area but I would think the only reason you'd want to change the numbers is if you changed to a 90mm tb. You could still move it to the right if you drill a bigger hole i guess, but the shape of the curve should stay the same. Somebody was talking about just having to multiply the entire table by .48 for a 90mm drive by wire tb.

Yep, that was me! Thanks PMack. Also to note, is changing the Adaptive Idle RPM for enable, cant remember exactly what its called, but stock its set to 60, if the rpm swings more then 60 it will keep the LTITs from changing as much. I set mine to 200rpms, since the swing before during surging was about + or - 150rpms from set idle speed.
