0300 code - metal plug shields - arking?
I have had LT headers (FLPs) for years.... recently, I have been getting a 0300 code with no specific idea on why this is occuring or which cylinders are causing the problem.
This weekend I:
1. pulled the valve covers off - no broken springs or bad rockers
2. replaced the Bosch 4s with NGKs (old plugs looked OK)
3. Replaced the wires - Thunder Racing
4. Replaced a crank shaft sensor (GM dealer said this was a possible cause)
When I replaced the plugs, I left off the stock metal spark plug shields as I thought they may be causing a spark arching issue that would casue the misfire.
I have not got the car back together yet but I was wondering if anyone else had a misfire casued by the plug sheilds?

i have seen probs with arching to the metal jackets, i have also seen where plug wires were too thin jacketed that they actually lost their spark to a header or manifold through the actual wire. and M6 PEWTER - with that miss, you might have a bad injector, or regulator. I have diagnosed that and have found that FPR's or bad injectors will cause that misfire.
