Default Help Tuning. Why didn't I blow up?

I did some logging while running around doing errands. I pulled in to get something to eat. While enjoying my meal, I replayed the log file in EFILive. To my horror, I saw the AFR shoot up to 23.81 at one point. Why didn't I blow something up? Even though I have a built motor, shouldn't it have tanked? Also, I was looking at the cells for the LTFT. What's the best way to hit all the cells. I tried to hit everything, but I was very far away from even getting close. I want to make sure of some things before I go back and edit my tune. If the cell is for exaple green and has a 1 in it, that means I need to subtract 1% off the VE cell, correct? Also, I have one cell at 1200 rpm (not sure of the coordinating value for the manifold pressure as my laptop is in the car), that is red and 153. What's going on with that? The surrounding cells are 3 at the most.

Deceleration often shows lean (maybe very lean)
and this is at such high vacuum (low MAP and
cylinder pressures) that it doesn't have enough
charge to hurt you. Deceleration fuel cutoff may
be what you're looking at.

I don't know from EFILive but see if your lean
spike is at a closed TPS and low MAP; if so,
fuggedaboudit (unless it's surging on decel or
something).

You may be looking at cell counts rather than average values.

leaner than about 18:1 doesn't typically cause damage, since the cylinder pressure is low.

The danger zone between 13-15 is where things like to break.

(note: general observations, I take no responsibility if you blow it up at 18:1)
