i generally have the person get a bung welded in on the drivers side outside portion of the ypipe elbow as long as they have headers...that way i dont even have to jack the car up...just take out the plug & put the wideband in. Quick/easy...if your gonna do it permenantly towards the inside would be better...but i would try to put it further upstream rather then downstream.

I usually put it in the passenger side existing bung as I have set mine up to be wideband output to me and narrowband output to the stock connector where I get power from as well

I do it like this

I'm thinking about getting a wb setup. Would the lc-1 work with the eio like the above setup? Is it a relatively straight forward install?

I like that set-up!! So...let me get this straight: the wideband sensor plugs into the opposite end of the LC-1; coming out of the LC-1, you have 2 sets of wires, one goes into the EIO, and the other yellow with the weatherpak plug plugs into the vehicles factory 02 plug, right?

Soundengineer, could you provide an explanation as to how you wired that up?

+1

I had an additional bung welded on for the wideband...that would suck if it turned out I didn't need it, LOL

... you didn't need it...

Use the connector of an old O2 sensor. You can use the stock harness to power the LC1 and ground it, as well as send a narrowband signal to the PCM while sending the wideband output to your scanner of choice.

There's a diagram in a post somewhere (joecar ?) of the pinout of the O2 connector. Out of the box, the LC1 yellow wire is narrowband output, red wire is +12v ignition and blue wire is LC1 ground. Green wire is analog ground. All those can be connected to the wiring harness.

LC1 Brown wire is wideband output, LC1 white wire is wideband ground, run those to HPT EIO white and black respectively (or whatever else your are scanning with).

Let me see if I can locate that picture of the pinout.

You might also consider how I ran mine though - cig lighter adaptor to power/ground LC1, same LC1 brn/white to HPT EIO, not using narrowband output because I have the wideband sensor installed in a seperate bung.

Cheers,
Rob (Bad30th)

LOL that figures. You always find this stuff out AFTER the the fact. Still, just in case of precision issues, ill leave the stocker in there.

doing this wouldnt stop you from putting it in the rear o2 plug...and just logging that
would need a seperat bung still but you could still use it to compare against teh stock narrowband
