Default AFR205/G5X2/Tune = 10hp

Posted in the Transmission and Dyno section - no much feedback

Swapped LS1 hotcam (219/228&.525/.525LSA 112) out and put in LGM G5X2 (232/250&.595/.608LSA 114). 4L60E inside.

Some really strange results:

1) Tuner didn't get alot of time with the vehicle.
2) Took it out and drove it - runs extremely smooth at idle (not sure before the tune how it ran) - VERY streetable, but doesn't rev high - no shift firmness - its not holding the gears.
3) Couldn't get it to downshift. Brought it to 40mph and mashed it - remained in same gear/accelerated (slowly).
4) Could manually shift into every gear, both up and down - but didn't push this cause I don't want to mess up the tranny
5) "As-is" the cam picked up 10HP over the hotcam w/ tune
6) Tried to brake-stall (accelerator/brake held down same time) would not light up the tires - almost like it would take off in second gear.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

This is your problem I bet.....I had the same issue. I suck at explaining this, but that cam probably idles at a higher MAP reading and the stock p0121 min/max is like 55/65. I raised mine to 65/75 or something close to that. Someone will explain this better, but changing this will eliminate your shifting issue.

Here's some more interesting news. I got the vehicle (paid for all the work) and agreed with the tuner that I'd bring it back to them next week when they have more time to look into this.

Weird thing is, when I picked it up, it responded just like it was before the tune (tuner did not do any changes). It downshifted great and pulled extremely well. I took it out on the same route as I did yesterday. It did really well and I was extremely pleased.

So I took it back home, let it sit for about 45 minutes, got back in it, took it out and what do you know - no downshift again. Ugghhhh, what's going on?
