Default What do I need for wideband?

I have an ORY and I dont have the place for sensors after the cats which I am pretty sure is where the wideband goes. I definitely want to have it when I tune for nitrous and WOT but I am not sure exactly what I need to do or what kind of shop put in a port. I might be completely off but somebody point me in the right direction!

wideband should be placed as far back in the exhaust, BEFORE the cats, as possible. Buy the wideband/controller, have an exhaust shop weld in a new bung, install the setup, done.

no...it would be like having it in open headers...you'd get alot of fresh air messing with the #'s

Best place I have been told by AEM and DynoJet is to place it a couple of inches (around 12" or so) from the collector for optimum results.

So if I go to an exhaust shop I just need to tell them to weld in a new bung for an O2 sensor a little after the collector? I am not buying the actual wideband yet but I want to use one that the guy who is tuning my car has.

I just use the bung in my header collector since I run in open loop...I have it installed in a heat sink though, so that helps.

You want it far enough from the engine to not overheat, but close enough to not have lag time in the readings (the last thing you want is your wideband reporting yesterday's news).

Mine is about 4 inches behind the header. If you dont have a bung, holley has them, just take it to an exhaust shop and they will weld it in fior ya, they charged me $20 to weld it in.

ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE THERE ARE NO EXHAUST LEAKS.

Go ahead. Ask me how I know...

I am getting a set of dynatech's put on. Your saying that I could use the bung in the collector for my 02? I am running in SD mode right now. Is that the same as open loop? (sorry for sounding like a dumbarse) . At this point I am not even sure how my current exhaust setup will work with these headers (I feel a headache coming on)
I am hoping my current SLP Ypipe will bolt right up

Oh yeah...exhaust parts all bolt together, no problems Man, if I had a nickel for every exhaust drama I've had...

SD mode does not = open loop. SD is one thing, open/closed loop is another. You can run SD closed loop (or open like me). The closed/open loop thing is merely referring to whether or not your PCM is taking feedback from the narrowband O2 sensors. Open loop = no, closed loop, the opposite.
