Default Hesitation

I had hesitation off idle to 1500rpms. After 1500, its fine. I tried replacing the MAF, but it didn't work. Just recently, i've been gettin an ses light- po121 (throttle position sensor). After i delete the code, the hesitation goes away for a little bit then goes back on in a little while, followed by the ses light a couple days later. What are the effects of a bad throttle position sensor? Is it safe to say that my hesitation problem can be solved by getting a new sensor? Any help would be appreciated.

does getting a new throttle position sensor require tuning or no?
