I am finally ready to start tuning my ve table as per the tuning 101 sticky.

When i pull up the menu under vcm controls it won't let me click on the tab to rest the fuel trims....What am I missing??

This box is greyed out if you are not connected to the car. Are you sure your connection is okay?

The cable says connected...thats why I am puzzled

I went and did a scan and got alot of neg fuel trims in the lower rpm's...I am seeing #'s as high as -15.

assuming I can get the fuel trims to reset, after I adjust the values in the primary vs rpm vs map table do I need to write the calibration to the vcm before I do another scan and log?

Make sure you aren't recording anything either. I think in record mode, that option is greyed out.

You just have to be connected to reset fuel trims. I thought the new version of HPT only had a play and stop button anyway. After adjusting the Ve table, you do need to write that to the PCM, then reset fuel trims again before logging.

Just out of curiosity, do the trims get reset everytime you flash or just when you issue a "reset" from the controls?

They dont reset on a reflash, you have to use the VCM controls to reset them.
