Default How much HP is a "tune" worth.

I have an 01 WS6 Trans am with an aftermarket lid, and a better flowing cat back. How much power will I gain if I go and have it tuned? Any help is appreciated. Im new to all this.

It all depends on how bad the factory tune matches your engine. Expect anything from 0-30hp increase, most likely falling into the range of about +10. Without additional info, all anyone can give you is this sort of generalized speculation.

I didnt gain **** from my tune, although i didnt mess with timing. I did get the AFR nice and safe though and dialed in all the tables.

I think about 5 is what you should expect. Anything more would just be icing on the cake. Once you start modding the heads and cam, you can get 25 or so.

22hp is usually the normal on a stock car if you fix the timing and fuel. Not counting the added drivability and code removal and other stuff you dont like about the way it drives.

That seems awfully optimistic from what I've seen. Maybe on a truck that starts with a factory 87 octane tune and is then tuned to run on 91 or higher octane, but not on LS1 vehicles.

Any gains from a stock vehicle will be minor. Your gains will be dialing in your PE to about a 12.6 AFR and working on your WOT timiing.
