changed gear ratio in Hptuners ... not installed on car yet - a4 overheating
Ok heres the situation. Planned on installing 3.73's and since my buddy is leaving the island, we decided to change the gear ratio in Hptuners from the currently installed 3.23's to 3.73 (gears not installed on car yet, but changed in pcm to say thats whats on it).
Drove my car about 20 miles today and by chance I looked at my trans temp gauge and it was hot. Plenty of fluid so I know thats not the problem. I've had trans cooler on car for about a year so only thing that i'm thinking could cause my trans to heat up in the ratio change in Hptuners saying it has 3.73's when actually has 3.23's.
I flushed my trans and put new fluid in just to be safe(didnt smell burnt but changed it to help cool it off) Also when had in park running put in gear back into park the temp soared back up so not sure if trans got damaged. Be an expensive mistake.
Anyone who knows if the tune would cause this I would appreciate some advice.

sounds like an issue with your trans or sensor...might wanna post in the trans section...this has little or nothing at all to do with the pcm as far as I can tell. BTW with a undersized cooler in the summer on my 3500 stalled car I would run 100-160F and could eek over 200 doing hotlaps at the track...maybe somethings up with your wiring ???
