Default deleting codes for good question

i've got a 98 z28 with a gas tank from a 00' z28.....tank was installed at the end of last summer, i put maybe 500-600 miles on it between then and now....i just put a new pump in it, and there was no seal in between the pump and tank so i was getting evap codes......took it to a friend at a gm dealer and the mechanic there found a seal and cleared the codes, but they popped back up......car runs fine, fuel system is tight and the codes are po440-po449 which are all evap stuff that i don't think i need....he said some wiring was missing that controls the purge in the canister or something like that, which is confusing to me because before i changed the pump, the codes never popped up, the ses light never came on.....

anyways, can ls1edit or a similar editing program delete these codes for good?

thanks
josh
