Default diablo tunning question

I just got my diablosport preditor today and tuned my car. I've been poking around some threads here and reading about maf's. Is it ok that I tuned my car with an SLP MAF? I should have done some more research before hand..
Also, I seem to be getting some backfire when shifting at high rpms. Is that normal? I read that the pcm has to "learn", how long does that take? Sorry alot of questions..

This could be nothing but I just noticed my car makes a weird sound when I turn my key to the on position. It sounds like a window motor or something turn on for a few seconds, coming by my driver-side rear wheel.

I would guess you are running a bit rich with the SLP MAF.
I just took one off my car and now have some crazy LTFTs in the +10% range, where they were tuned to -2 - 0 with the SLP MAF.
In all honesty, after dialing in the LTFTs, the car feels better now with the stock MAF and is getting better mileage as well.

Funny you say that, today my SES light came on and I ran thee diagnostics and it gave me codes P0171 and P0174. Both say its running too lean... whats up with that?

the slp maf has a resistor put on the sensor itself to trick it into thinking it is still stock. the sensor is heated like an 02 sensor and the pcm calculates the amount of airflow by how many mv it needs to stay at the set temp. many people reccomend removing the resistor to truely tune the maf. i pulled mine off, but run in SD for now. the headers dont allow the o2's to heat up properly, so when i plug in the maf the AFR cycles up and down with the o2 sensors until they get hot enough, after 45-60 min. of driving
