a4 shift points (this ones for the ls1 tech gods)
Everywhere ive looked even the dealership cannot answer one simple question; in a 2002 t\a with auto tranny at what rpms do the shifts happen im asking this cause im wanting to change em to as close to 6k as possible but hypertech has you change the shifts in mph and i dont wanna rely on the tach beacouse most say its inaccurate when at wot. My guess (looking at the tach) is 1-2 is 5800 and 2-3 is 5500 (havent found enough open road to see 3-4 recently) but like i said thats from the tach HELP ANYBODY YOU WONT BELIVE HOW MANY IVE ASKED THIS SIMPLE QUESTION WITH NO LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tach is around 2-500 RPM slow past 4000 rpm on most 2002. Use Autotap or equivilant and you'll see. So your display of 5800 is about 6000 in reality.
at WOT, stock RPMS are 1-2=6000, 2-3=6000, 3-4=5800
The other variable in shifting is the MPH. You could be at 6000 RPM but if your not at your MPH you're not gonna shift which is why some of us hit our limiter at times waiting for it to shift. Usually this is caused by poor air (slower to get to speed) and/or poor traction.
Hope that helped.
