Default Edit Issues

Everytime I open up a tune in LS1 Edit to compare to another, when I open the 2nd file, LS1 Edit always reads "this file does not have the same segment 1 ID." What the hell is that all about?

Open file in Edit. Below VIN are 8 segment IDs.The files you compare MUST have the same segment- 1 ID (8 digit number). For example- all of the 2002 Corvette files I have begin with Segment 1 =12221588. My 2001 begins Segment 1 = 12202088 so this won't compare with my 2002 files. SUCKS!

Well, my issue is that my 99 tune wont compare to another 99 stock tune. Shouldnt the same years have the same segment numbers?

No, the way they did LS1edit if the segments do not match your SOL.
Segment values are checksums for each section of code.

When GM does updates for a model year call that a different version so if they have done 5 different updates done for your year, you can only compare flashes of the same version yours is.

So if you have your PCM updated by GM then all your older ls1edit flash files can no longer be compared to the newer flash.
