Autotap loses connection after 1-2 minutes, how to fix?
on my autotap software, i hook it to the car plugged from my desktop computer (next to the chassis dyno) to the obd2 connector. after a minute or two it will lose signal connection..its a endless problem
another guy came in with a laptop and his own cable etc and he was having the same problem..anyone know whats this about?

Well know fact the interface of that PCM scanner is a junker and does not comply with how GM functions across the ADLC (OBD-II connector)
Any scanner product that uses that interface will have the same issues of not connecting, or losing connection at the worst time so if you use a scanner every day as I do you need a better quality scanner that connects every time and stays connected and even auto reconnects when engine is turned off and then back on.

Autotap does the same for me, I just switched to EFI Live and it works GREAT, never disconnects. I'm even using the same cable!

It works better for you since you have an F-body, for the Corvette which has lots more data packets on CAN network either of B&B scanners do not work well using that interface.
Whole reason they came out with a newer interface.
Issue is one hogs the CAN network so it works better but at a cost of holding up other modules in car from being able to move data across the network when it needs to.
