Default any adverse affects of raising the timing?

any adverse effects of raising the half throttle to idle timing up a few degrees. wont that help with gas mileage and power or is it a trade off one or the other?

I'd like to know too. So far my timing is only bumped up for WOT cells and nothing else. I still need to figure out how to properly tune my timing for every day driving cells.

Who knows unless you measure it, you might make it worse.

If you're increasing ur timing make sure you can monitor KR so you can back it off if you need to. Other than that, no adverse effects.

Back when I had my GTP, I bumped timing up in the cells that were relative to highway driving and did notice a jump in fuel economy. Gotta love a heavily modded Grand Prix knock'n out 30-32 MPG at 80 MPH. I'd guess that the same affect would be had in part throttle situations so long as KR isn't present.

I highly doubt there is a problem with raising it at idle.

I wonder if similar effects would be noted when modifying the cells used in daily driving and smoothing out the surrounding cells?

well i bumped all my timing cells 2-3 degrees where i am not in boost and it feels more powerful on the highway especially when my converter actually locks up. i havent logged it yet but i will definitely post my results.i did notice higher idle in open loop, but not too high

yea you will waste alot of hours moving the timing around. there are not firm numbers.
