Default LS1 computer controlling an LT1?

Has anyone ever done this setup? I'm pretty sure I read someone has before. I know you would need to put a crank trigger on it.

I'm not sure where and what sensor's are on an LT1, but I would think most of the LT1 sensors could be made to work with an LS1 computer or adopt the LS1 sensor's onto the LT1.

I know LT1's run diff tran's. Not sure how that would work.

Keep in mind there would be HPtuners on the car.

anyone ever do it or have any info?

I think the only difference with the ls1 trans are the extra bolt on the bellhousing and the splines are different on the input shaft. And dont the later model lt1's have a crank trigger in the timing chain cover?

Yes, I think the 96 and 97's do. I'm not sure how they work, but I think it was just there to report DTC's to the computer or something along that line.

Bump. So I have a 98 harness and comp.

I know people have done this. Swap over to coils and used the ls1 wiring and comp for easy tuning. Anyone know any info?

it ranges from 1000 - to 2500 but the optis cost around 400 so after changing two or three it pays for it self.

I did my 97 a couple of years ago for a freind that l sold the car too. I converted the lt1 harness using the build yourown harness kit from efi connections. I had to change the firing order at the pcm when I wired in the new ls1 style plug. And i added a ground in the harness for all the sensors. Because the ls1 have an individual ground for each sensor and the lt 1 Does not. U use a 96-97 front cover and the efi conn. Kit comes with the relucter wheel and crank position sensor. It's been a while so if you have some more specific question I can probably help.
