Search not working for me--problems with LT1/LS1 Edit and Tunercat with Vista
So I bought a brand stinking new Dell of course with Vista. I setup Edit with Win 98 compatibility and my Tunercat Winflash as Win 2000. I am using my cable with a Dynex USB to serial adapter. After double checking the com port to see that it matched, I still get "invalid response from PCM." Any pointers?

I've also had trouble with Edit and Vista. What is common here is that I've been using the Dynex adapter. It takes many tries to make connection. With XP the Dynex hooks up the first time. Used to use Keyspan adapter when I used XP but driver probs with Vista.Keyspan does make an adapter that supports Vista 32 . Have not tried.Hope that helps.

good luck
I purchased a brand new laptop, fought with tech support, did the above, tried all kinds of things, and ended up nothing would work.
I'm not trying to discourage you, lord knows that I'm one that'll go on my own and try anything, proven or not, but it didn't work for me......and EVERYTHING is supposed to be compatable with vista.
compatability mode didn't work either.

I e-mailed Carputing but they said yeah we'll update it for $50. I was like "yeah right."
I need to learn more about Vista but I don't think I've tried the user prevention crap shut off. Actually not sure where to do that.

I'm using my old notebook with XP to run Edit for now. I'm also going to a dual boot system with Vista and XP on my new notebook. I toasted my PCM last month because of connection probs using Vista with Dynex cable.
