Default dumb question..
but i want to know do the stock shift ***** like this twist off? I've put some force on it before to see if it will twist off but it seems like it doesn't, i didn't want to put too much force onto it though cause i didn't want to break it. i want to put a different shift **** on my car.

Have you checked the shift **** for a retaining clip in the back or a retaining bolt

No retaining clip. Just twist it off. Lefty loosey.

Twist it. The GTO has the annoying clips, not the Firebird.
